Thanksgiving

At the last minute Matt and I headed out to California for Thanksgiving. We left Wednesday morning and drove straight to LA to meet Joe, Holly, and her family at Wicked. We had a great time. We woke up the next morning to see Gavin peeking in at us. He loaded Matt up with some stuffed animals and we got to enjoy some time laughing at all the funny things that come out of that kids mouth. He had some special pictures saved for us. We had an amazing Thanksgiving feast at Holly's parents. The weekend was full of spending time with the family, watching football, and having fun. It was hard to leave- especially since Gavin thought we were staying for 60 somthing days! We miss you guys!

Halloween

This year Matt and I dressed up in masquerade outfits. I found a big skirt and black dress at good will and then I helped Mom sew the bodice. Katee finished off my outfit by making a master piece out of my hair. I actually slept on it and wore it to work like that the next day. Matt took me out for dinner afterwards and my beehive got some good stares. It poked up over the booth so the whole restaurant could see it. Since we were in normal clothes then my waitress finally broke down and asked me what the hair do was for. Good Times!

Drew's Birthday Bash

Friday night Matt picked me up at the airport and we went straight to Bucco to have Drew's Birthday dinner. We enjoyed a fun night of glow in the dark ultimate fribsee and Rocky 4 on the big screen by the pool. Good times!

Seattle Week 1

Well- there are a lot of big changes going on at work right now. In a nutshell we are going to start selling another electronic medical records software for Dr.'s. In order to sell the software we have to become certified. Which means I have to go through two weeks of training in Seattle. It was pretty intense. Luckily I didn't go alone- Leah was right there with me. We didn't just have to train, we had to demo the product back to the entire training group while the instructor quizzed and corrected us. At least at night we were able to get out of that room and check out Seattle. The most humorous part of the trip was my never ending cell phone problem- I washed my cell phone Sunday night so I had to go up there without one. I got the replacement and plugged it in for 12 hours to charge the battery. On one of our breaks I called to activate it only to find out there was no battery in it the whole time! So that night I threw it back on the charger before going out. At about 11pm Leah came in laughing her head off because I had connected it to the charger but the other end wasn't plugged into the wall! Finally around 12:30 on Friday I got my phone working! Oh well. The best thing we did in Seattle was take the ferry to one of the islands. We did a lot of running to get to the ferry, and a lot of walking after we got off, but we found this great place called Cafe Nola. I have to say that was the best crusted Halibut I have ever eaten. Then they served up some warm bread pudding. I haven't ever had that before but it was incredible! We also did the Space Needle thing, saw a giant troll that was carved out under a bridge, went to the Pike Street Market (they had these huge flower bouquets for only $5-$15!), went to Discovery park, saw the Locks, and enjoyed beautiful sunrises each morning. Oh- and we saw a drug deal happen right in front of us! Besides that, it was both a productive and enjoyable trip, but I am glad to be home!

Roaches and Craft Night!

October is here! The most excitement I had this week was waking up to find a HUGE Roach on Matt's neck!I thought I was in the scene from Just Married. I think Matt's morning breath must have killed it because it didn't seem to move when I screamed. After getting over the shock I grabbed the camera because I didn't think anyone would believe me. And now for the truth- Matt and I have been helping our friends put some last minute touches on their haunted house. (http://www.revenanthaunt.com/) One part of it has a cave that is crawling with fake bugs. I took on the task of stringing these rubber roaches. I literally sewed the string to the ceiling and the glued 500 roaches in formation crawling up the walls. I took my bucket of roaches into work on Friday and had good times with everyone. Katee was the best, I put it behind her desk on the floor and went to talk to her- in the middle of talking I jumped and yelled "Katee- Oh my Gosh!" and she looked back and the roach caught her eye and she screamed bloody murder! She screamed so loud one of the guys on the other side of the office rang her on the intercom just to make sure she was ok. It was a fun prank all day. That night a big group of us went out to eat before going to the haunted house and we caught a few people by surprise by putting the roach in their menus, Katee happened to be one of them that grabbed the wrong menu and it still got her again! Good times- the haunt was awesome- they put so much work and effort into it and it looks great. (I couldn't talk Dad into coming to check out my roach placing skills!)

Saturday Katee and Drew came over for some homemade breakfast and to watch General Conference. We stuffed ourselves with an omelet scramble, hash browns, biscuits and gravy (my favorite), a fruit bowl, and OJ. Delicious! We enjoyed two great sessions of conference, and then we invited all the girls over for craft night while the guys took off for the priesthood session. What a project it turned out to be! Mom, Connie (Leah's Mom for those of you who haven't met her yet), and Carrie worked on clocks. They found out that was a bigger project than they could complete in one night. So they helped us sand down blocks for painting. I pulled out the chop saw to cut strips of wood down to blocks. The hardest part of it all was trying to figure out how to take off the safety so I could use it! I had to ask two neighbors to look at it because Katee and I couldn't figure it out- they looked at it and I think they were pretty embarrassed because they couldn't either- one of them told me he felt like he needed to turn in his man card because he was just as dumb founded as I was. Luckily I called home depot and they helped me find the one simple little pin I had to pull back! We had a great night together- I don't think any of our crafts were exactly like we had planned them, and poor Carrie (I don't know how I missed getting a picture of her) she was so determined to keep working, but so tired from her long day! She did some cute baby blocks that she took home to finish. Since I didn't finish my project until 12:30 last night, I thought I would throw it up here so the girls can see what it looked like when it was completed. Everyone knows I love craft night so for those of you that missed all the fun we'll do it again for sure!

33rd Birthday

I debated whether or not to admit how old I am now, but I've decided that once I start feeling old I will quit telling people how old I am! So...I'm 33 now. Matt took me out to Roy's on Friday night to celebrate my birthday eve. We had an AMAZING dinner. I think they could have rolled us out of the restaurant- we at so much! Saturday Matt woke me up early and we enjoyed the morning together. Then Dad and Mom took us to Paradise Bakery for breakfast (Leah kept telling me how great the breakfast was there so I had to try it out.) Then Matt took my car to get washed and took me shopping for the next 4 hours. It was a lot of fun and he was a good sport. He didn't complain once that he was missing all the football games or that I was taking too long. We did make it to Sports Chalet where he bought me a woman's basketball- that may have been prompted not just by my desire to have one, but by his desire that I not take any of his balls anymore! In any case I was happy to get it (I've been practicing palming it all day), and somehow he managed to get a new football for himself while he was there. After our shopping excursion we rushed home in time for me to change and take off with all the women to a stake dinner where we literally had steak. Then we watched the women's braodcast together. Afterwards they drove me up to Scottsdale where we met all the guys at an Improv club. I've never been to an Improv show before but I would definitely go again- it was a ton of fun and I got to be there with all the people I love. So all in all it was a great Birthday- Thanks everyone! Oh yeah- I can't forget the cute stuff I got from the nieces- KyLee spent a lot of time making me a beautiful crown, a Princess wand, little people, and butterflies. And Sandee "rote" me the cutest card and drew pictures of me as a Princess on it. Thanks girls- I Love You!
